Unique Eightfist Playing Card Design

To be unique in the marketplace, the playing card design style we chose for Eightfist face cards were selected from well-designed classical and antique card decks, dating mostly from the 18th and 19th centuries. Use of these classic playing card deck selections is, in part, to pay homage to the antiquated art of playing card design and the many designers who dedicated their life to their craft. In part, it’s also to make it an interesting card game to play with friends.

The Eightfist wild cards were designed specifically for application in this unique new game. An infusion of quality in our present design and approach is necessary on all fronts. The vibrant playing card design we’ve chosen for Eightfist is a move in this direction.

It is our hope to issue alternate collector decks, embellished with other carefully selected vintage playing card designs to include in our next incarnation of Eightfist. Check back for further developments.

Some of the card designs included in the Eightfist card game are the Jacob Holmblad designed this Jack of Diamonds card for the Holmblads Billeder Eneret Bridge deck of the early 1900s; The Eighfist King of spades was chosen from the Salonkarte, Eduard Buttner deck , published in 1895; one of our favourites – the King of hearts, from the Allerfeinste-Schubert Whist deck, c.1890; and the beautiful King of diamonds vintage playing card is from the Salonkarte Eduard Buttner deck, 1895.
